GTECH and Atronic
On December 6, 2004, GTECH and privately-held Gauselmann Group announced that both parties entered into an agreement allowing GTECH to acquire a 50 percent controlling equity position in the Atronic Group of companies owned by Gauselmann. On January 31, 2008, GTECH announced that it had completed the acquisition of the 50 percent controlling interest in Atronic, and acquired the remaining 50 percent equity interest on May 13, 2008. The combination of GTECH and Atronic creates a new global competitor in gaming content, equipment, systems and services, and a market innovator with strong positions in the highest-growth gaming markets.
